Listen Man...

Hey man,

I like the overall idea of the song. But here are the reasons you lost three stars from me.

1) I'm honest, so therefore, I am rude some times. The singing wasn't great. Your voice sounds like a punk artist singing an indie rock song. It works, but I feel you could have executed it better.

2) I think your main chord structure included; Am, C, Em, D etc.. I feel the intro would have worked better to go Am, C, Gm, but that's just me.

3) It was a tad repetitive, and not in a good way, although if you get the vocals perfected it would have worked better.

All in all keep up the good work!

GameBoyFireworks responds:

Haha, thanks man! Yeah, My voice is very untrained =//

I'm glad you listened! yes

Am, C, Em, Am, C, G
Bridge:F, G, Em, F, G, Am, F, G, C, G, F, G ----> Back to verse

Well Done!!

This is great! t sounds like really good trailer music. The only thing I didn't care for was the deeper brassy thing. IT sounded to...well...brassy. Thats just personal taste you still get 10/10 5/5

Keep up the good work man!!

reel2 responds:

You are right, It's abit hard. I might just fix that actually! Thanks for the review.

Great Musicality, Vocals.....Hmmm...

Hey,

This is not my type of music at all, but that is no reason to downrate.

I can DEFF hear the musicality you must posses. However, the vocals....man....The singing is fine it's just your mic is really cheap or something. I guess it could have been afects. Whatever the reason it was to distorted.

I'll admit I'm listening on $185 Studio headphones, so that might be the problem. Either way keep up the great work. I personally would love a version of this without the vocals, or cleaner vocals at least.

In a nutshell, this song feels like if Nine Inch Nails did some Old-school Hip-Hop. This is an interesting combo and is executed perfectly!

Creativity Exposed

I love alternative music. This is an awesome song. If I didn't know any better I would say this was a midi. Let me clarify, I don't mean you stole it, I mean it sounds very much like it was done in a piano roll editor. In my opinion it's one of the hardest things to do in a DAW. Makeing the piano sound real if you don't use a midi keyboard. IF you used one or not, this was my only critic.

Overall this is a great listen, and 100% worthy of my iPod. Also, for everyone who doesn't like the intro; at 1:00 it sounds very Linkon Park. GameBoyFireworks does a great job at using this for the bridge of the song, at least listen to that part even if you don't like the whole song.

It's funny when I read the description I thought were going to use electronics as well. But the use of just piano as techno is amazing, very well executed ;)

5/5 10/10

I hope you get front page,

-Angelus

GameBoyFireworks responds:

This was actually recorded in a live studio on a grand piano! :D

I'm glad that you liked it!! Thanks for the long review. gotta love those. :))

A little empty but good

This overall is pretty good. One of the good uses of raw pitch bending. I kept waiting for it to build up higher with more instruments, but it never did. This is one of those songs I think would do well with like so:

Starting off the way you did, that was great, then keep adding more and more and more, then bring it down in the same way you brought it up. Just my opinion, but keep up the good work ;)

Daxter1537 responds:

yea i could of built it up some, kinda make it more my own, but i did like the original, but then again i wasnt making the original lol, thanx for the tip

Thanx for the Review :D

Almost Perfect!

This is amazing, great production value and structure. There is one problem though....on the main, slower guitar, you b and string was a tad flat. It was just enough to notice if you really listen for it. I have 5 years of guitar in me, and I must say the hardest thing is tuning by ear. My new acoustic has a built in tuner thankfully, whether you used one of not....it was my only criticism. I really do find it amazing that there is no buzzing here, most ng acoustic stuff buzzes, so props.

5/5 9/10 9 Because of that darn b string!!

What A Cover Should Be 5/5 -10/10

Great production value, nice basses ans highs. You kept to the original idea but somehow made it your own. I to love Silent Hill (2 especially) I felt like I would hear this if they updated SH2 with modern graphics.

This is one of those pieces where it's "disturbingly beautiful" This might sound crazy....but....It's almost like in the video game, this song was written for James. However in your cover it feels like "Silent Hill" in itself.

Keep up the great work.

Rhyhart responds:

Thanks man I'm glad you liked it so much. Silent Hill 2 is probably one of the greatest games out there so I know what you mean. Thanks for the review man.

Hey, Keep it up!!

Hey,

Very good job on this!! The only thing I would change is thus: You have a crowd chearting in the intro, I think it would have worked much better to start the song right at the moment you started playing music, after the crowd stopped. It was then re introduced softly, that worked a lot better!!

That's just my personal opinion. Haha it's funny I'm listening to it now, as I review. It sounds like a song you would hear on a teen nick show or disney channel. It's got a happy and innocent vibe to it. It's also very simple, and reminds me of a 1930's mikey mouse bobbing his head up and down to a song like "let my love open the door" Only as if it was in techno.

As weird as that may sound I mean it in a very good way haha!!

Wow lol, definetly one of the cool reviews I've had, thanks for liking it =D I do this as a hobby, though Im starting to consider making a job of it, Anyway lol thanks for the review, its why I upload here, I want to get better and criticism is the best way to do that.

Listen..

Well, this is actually good. I really like the percussion in this. It's fast and sound very industrial. Some of the elctro parts were a little to brutal. Now keep and mind i've never heard the original, so was the vocal track in this yours? Or someone you knew? Keep it up none the less,

5/5 9/10 - Don'tr ask me why not a 10 hehe

Amazing Work!

This is very good music. The flute reminds me of the six feet under main menu music for the dvds. (show not the band) That is very good, it's very heartfelt ans sincere. I am sorry for your loss, there really are no comforting words I can think of as a stranger, other than keep playing music, it's helped me.

5/5 10/10 Not Because I'm just trying to be nice to you, it's actually good.

-Angelus

Maverlyn responds:
